Installation

Install the III SDK for Python

Requirements

The III SDK for Python requires Python 3.10 or higher.

Install via pip

Install the core SDK:

pip install iii-sdk

Optional Dependencies

OpenTelemetry Support

To enable distributed tracing, metrics, and logging with OpenTelemetry:

pip install iii-sdk[otel]

This installs:

• opentelemetry-api>=1.25
• opentelemetry-sdk>=1.25

Development Dependencies

For development and testing:

pip install iii-sdk[dev]

This includes:

• pytest>=8.0
• pytest-asyncio>=0.23
• mypy>=1.8
• ruff>=0.2
• OpenTelemetry packages

Core Dependencies

The SDK includes these core dependencies:

• websockets (>=12.0) - WebSocket client for III Engine communication
• pydantic (>=2.0) - Data validation and serialization

Verify Installation

Verify the SDK is installed correctly:

import iii
print(iii.__version__)
